Definitely one of the first plants to bloom. It is compact at about 2 feet tall and works well at the edge of a mixed boarder. While it does not bloom for long the foliage is lush green and always looks good. I have it growing in full sun in soil that is somewhat heavy and able to retain moisture. It has been deer and rabbit resistant for me. It has reseeded but not aggressively.
