It is a dark green plant with a few spots on leaves near the base, and leaf color can change to a dark chocolate maroon in winter. Leaves are completely flat- not channelled at all- and have small, widely-spaced white teeth along the margins. Flowers are red to pinkish and tend to grow at an angle from the plant (or at least the flower stalk eventually sags to one side I have noticed). So far it is an easy grower that handles full, hot sun well, low/high water and general abuse well. I have not seen one produce offsets yet.

This plant grows well in full sun in Southern California. It is easily rooted in potting soil with warmth.
