(alkaline soil, Ph 8.3) I have been meaning to transplant mine, which is in a 5Gal. bucket, but evenso it has bloomed for me three times this year, and even in the bucket (outdoors) I've gotten 3 fruits once, and 2 another, the third time is right now (9/12/20155). Her plants (2, side by side maybe 6 feet apart) are right now blooming with about 35 to 50 blooms. This is the FIFTH time her plant did this year !! almost all blooms yielded fruit. Now, we think the "secret" is rainfall... and all the ozone & water & lightning accompanying the storms. Other times have been drier, and not bloomed as much, nor yielded as much. I used to love watermelons, but Dragon Fruit has become my all-time favorite! ...but also I still love watermelon.

It is in enhanced potting soil with extra peat added. The pot is large.
I check it daily and I thoughtI may finally have flower buds! It'll be time to bring it indoors in only a couple of weeks (Zone 7), so this year it'll go into the east-facing LR picture window at 70-F and remain there under full growth conditions, at least until I see if I really do have flowers... and perhaps even fruits. But n-o-o-o-......

There is no Foliage or Leaves in the Hylocereus genus. The stems are also Not herbaceous.
