We have really high winds with no protection; blizzards, heavy rains and then no rain and it does fantastic! This is it's 3 or 4th year. I bought 2 of this one and one of the Gold Bullion (you can see it in the picture beside it- the Gold Bullion is lighter green and hadn't bloomed yet; the Montana is blooming a lot in the picture). They cost $1.33 or close to that at Bluestone Perennials in Madison, Ohio. They come as tiny little plants that i didn't have much hope for and have exceeded my expectations! They aren't tall and should be in the front of my garden instead of behind the Obedient plants, but I had no idea what the Obedient plants were and they were tiny babies, too.
They do REBLOOM in fall! Also, they get around 1-2' tall.
