Plant researchers suspect this since the flowers resemble those pictured on some of the old Chinese paintings. The double blossoms are a stunning silvery shell pink. Each petal is of the quill or spoon shape classification. The inner petals are a strong pink but gradually become light pink to white on the outer petals. When smelling this mum I sense a strong but sweet, lemony cake frosting scent. Many people smell the typical ‘mum scent’ but admit it is much stronger. This mum begins to bloom in October.
