It l...Read Moreooks amazing when it's in full bloom, the bush is loaded with blossoms, and it doesn't grow very tall for a rose either. The foliage looks great too when there aren't that many flowers open. Very nice, has stood up to our heat here in Sactown in the summer in full sun for a lot of the day.

I did prune it back and shape it some in the spring. I live in area 9, where it rarely gets below 40, although we do have a few days where it gets down to freezing. The summers can be hot, with intermittent temps from the 70's to 105, with averages in the 80's and 90's. Neither extremes seems to bother Topsy Turvy, but I don't have it planted in the hottest area of the garden. This rose impresses me more and more. It is not the most perfect rose. The open rose can look a little messy up close but the blooms are large and bright red with yellow center and yellow stamens. Just when I think it needs to be dead headed it drops on its own and is full of new buds. It is almost constantly in bloom. I had blooms last year up through November. It does get some blackspot and mildew but doesn't seem to care much and often the disease seem to clear up on their own. If you are looking for a flower to display in a vase, I wouldn't think this would be the rose for you, but if you want a lot of big colorful blooms, that add great color to your garden, and bloom almost all summer and fall this is a great rose for your garden. It does finally go to hips later in the year.
