They also do well in pots under a patio. They do well inside also because you can't " love them to death" by watering often. Also a good pass along as they reproduce like crazy. The only thing that I will say is if you over fertilize them the bulbs " rhizomes " will rot. Mine have been on my homestead for 40+ years.
