They are considered annual but reseed very heavily and will come back the following year. Mine grew about 4 feet tall and the mix had white, rose, cherry, pink, violet and purple blossoms. They needed very little care. I planted mine 12 inches apart and they filled in the space where I planted them very nicely. They do have spines and the plant needs to be handled with care. (I would not plant them near a walkway or in near a children's play area.) Mine also bloomed all summer long and I received many compliments from neighbors.
