Small,slow growing,not attractive,burns easily in hot sun when container grown. I think it could be kept forever and a day to a height of 14" if left in a pot.
This is a relatively common cultivar of E ingens, though it is not all the 'monstrose' to me. It is more like a smaller, variegated E in...Read Moregens. It is invariable dark gree with mottling of pale yellow-green. It's shape is columnar/branching, but it is knobby and somewhat irregular in it's growth patterns (the monstrose part, I guess). Leaves look same as regular e ingens, though smaller. Plants are pretty slow growing. I have never seen one taller than 3' but I think they do get somwhat taller. The thickest one I have seen was about 1" in diameter... hard to believe sometimes it's the same species as E ingens.
