They have reseede...Read Mored all over my garden anywhere I have somewhat bare soil. The foliage is very beautiful as the leaves are dark green and spotted with dark purple to black. They are quite dramatic as well when even the little plants push up a huge head filled with tiny pink to purple orchids. One can see them best with magnifying glass. I was quite surprised as I originally bought them from Red's Rhodies and I understood that they were hard to grow and propagate and had protected them. Now I have about 100+ growing randomly in my beds! I do not use pesticides and do use a lot of chips and compost so that may be one reason why they are doing so well. I know that they have a symbiotic relationship with funguses that like chips and compost.
