I babied these seeds for weeks & weeks before they'd sprout in the pots I started them in March through late May. Pulled the large seed...Read Mores out of the dirt after a couple months, re-knicked them, soaked them again for 2 days starting w/warm water and changing it to re-warm several times a day. Replanted. FINALLY you'd see the 'stick' come out of the seed's side (unusual germination) and they grew quickly. Palm leaf. Huge vine, 25' ++ at least. Over my brick wall and growing like crazy.
BUT NO SIGN OF ANY BLOOM!
A reference in France where I got a handful of my seeds said they NEVER bloom the first year. As fall approaches, I'm trying to figure out what to do with it over our usually mild winter here in Dallas. But...if growing, provide tons of space for it; it took over 2 of my crepes and another of my mg vines!
I think this one is worth the trouble to keep, however that may be!
