| A note from raindance_pdx: |
| "I'm a Northwest urban gardener, focused on creating inviting and attractive zones in our front, back, and side yards. While I don't consider myself an expert, I love learning about and experimenting with new plants, as well as finding ways to encourage my gardens to flourish. I suspect gardening is a bit easier in the Northwest than other parts of the country because of the relatively mild climate and abundant rain. I've had the most success with sun and shade zones in the yard, primarily by choosing plants especially for those zones. However, I've been less successful with the partial sun and partial shade zones--especially finding the right mix of plants for those zones. Most of the plants in our yard are perennials--I don't have the patience to plant and nurture annuals each year. We also have a large assortment of roses as well as blueberries, raspberries and grapes." |
