| "Originally from New York and very acclimated to city living--I moved out west to Washington 7 years ago. Here I learned from an old farmer next door how to live off the land and garden. Those early lessons propelled me into a love for gardening and appetite for information and new discoveries. Up until 2001, I was very healthy and gardening. But in September of 2001, I collapsed from one of many heart attacks and in the past 3 1/2 years have endured 3 open heart surgeries, 30 heart procedures, 11 stents and a pacemaker. Now at the age of 44, I am terribly limited physically. But as of this month, January 2005, I am determined to get back on track in my garden where I am the happiest. I love this Web site and look forward to sharing great info. I found other forums on certain mainstream gardening sites to be very malicious and condenscending. I have a good feeling about this gardening community! Go gardeners!" |
