| "I am a transplant from Indianpolis, IN to this northern Florida town of Southport just north of Panama City, FL. Gardening in this climate and soil condition is very different from anything I experienced in Indy. With the help of our local UF/IFAS Extension, I learned how to "make" things grow here and took the Master Gardener Course. I now volunteer time at the Extension Office as a Master Gardener, involved in many projects with youth in the community, educational forums, creating and publishing a garden calendar for our area, and planning our annual Spring Thing event (3/27/04) which is a free seminar on gardening with distinquished speakers, vendors of gardening related items, and our annual plant sale." |
