"I am landscaping my small lot (60' x 100') in Parsons, WV by planting wildlife-friendly trees and shrubs. Also, I'm learning about creating butterfly/hummingbird gardens. My goal is to have a lot filled with lush vegetation, interspersed by paths. The biggest obstacle is the lack of nurseries in this area that carry native trees and shrubs. I'll probably have to start plants from cuttings that I can find in the nearby woods.
This part of West Virginia is great for wildlife gardening...we get ample rainfall and the soil is acidic." |
