  A note from Casperr:
"I am a canna lover. I'm always looking for new places to get different varieties of cannas. I have over 60 varieties currently and that's just not enough! LOL

Cannas are the first plant I successfully grew. Until then, everything I tried would die. I was convinced I had a black thumb.

My sister moved into a new house with a row of cannas along a back fence. She mowed them down each week. So I asked to take a few home. She, who thinks the entire world should be asphalt, said, "Take them all!" So I did.

About 200 yellow King Humbert cannas went home with me. I planted them all around my house, hoping a few in one spot would survive. Two months later, they were all three or four feet tall!! I was amazed! The next summer, they grew to 7 ft tall--a magnificent canna forest! And so began my addiction to gardening.

The funny thing is, people tell me you can't grow cannas in Arkansas, and certainly not in my red clay. And while they are saying this, they are standing eye to stamen with my cannas. LOL

I now grow everything. There's not much that won't grow in my red clay. I've replaced all the bermuda in my yard with flowers. They're everywhere! My brother lives next door. He used to sit on his porch and laugh at me as I trotted thru the yard with my shovel. "Nothing will grow in our clay, you know," he'd tell me. Now he wants me to do his yard like mine. I have started that project and have landscaped about half of his yard. I must say, More is more!! Gimme more!! LOL
