L. radiata is called "Higan-bana" in Japan because it blooms around the time of the Ohigan observances.

The first blooms opened on my spider lily (Lycoris radiata) after the bloomstalk took just a few days to spring up and mature. What an amazing plant!

This Spider Lily is partially open, showing the 6 rays of the plant that are hard to see once open.

Rooted bulbs of Lycoris radiata. The foliage emerges in early Spring in Northeastern Oklahoma.
