Palafoxia rosea - the younger head to the left has only black stamens while the older head has stigmas which appear after the stamens have shed their pollen (an adaptation against self-pollination).

Great looking flower just started blooming. Thin stem winding around other plants. No visable leaves.

These have been blooming for months. This late season bloom has better color.
