A 2-year old Yellow(?) Malayan Coconut tree growing by the water in Rockledge, Florida (32955). In the last 1 year that the tree had been in the ground in the location shown, it had been flooded 3 times for a maximum of about 3 days.

A freshly dug hole of Coconut Crabs and the fallen Coconut that they have eaten in Fairchild Tropical Garden in Miami, Florida (33156). Every single ounce of white meat from inside the Coconut's hard shell had been meticulously removed and devoured.

This photo captures a rare phenomena of an incomplete job by a Coconut Crab in Miami\\\'s Fairchild Tropical Garden (33156). In a hurry a Crab possibly tried in vain, under some threat, to take home a large chunk of meat after dislodging it from the shell.

Fallen Coconuts are rounded up and then moved to adjacent moist, humid and semi-shaded areas like this next to Mangroves for sprouting in Miami's Fairchild Tropical Garden (33156).
