The inside of the pseudostem which has lots of water and fiber. In some countries the fiber is harvested for many uses.

In just a few years this plant now towers over my house. Some leaves get frost damaged but it grows more.

The ribs are huge and red which is characteristic for Ensete ventricosum.

The flower is about 7 feet long from stem to tip.

Taken 28th August 06. The same plant I grew last year from seed, kept inside for winter and planted in June. A hot and dry summer, now cooler and wetter it is growing and will be mulched this winter

Repotted just after I noticed seed germination (5 weeks) of 1 of 5 seeds. Seeds from Thompson & Morgan.
