Texas native wildflower. It is considered a weed but it does have brightly colored and unique shaped flowers.

Very ripe fruit ~ it ripens from green with (sometimes) black streaks on top to yellow to yellow with a reddish orange tinge as in the picture. Photo taken in Spicewood, Texas.
