Please don't die... Before January 5th 2003, I had only covered my magnolia with some leaves and lots of snow. I, however, couldn't get it fully covered it snow, so I am afraid of that the top has gotten badly frostbitten. The "top bud" had 2 woolleen hats on it (fingers cut from old gloves) but I don't think they helped much. We had some cold days, over a week below -20 C. On January 5th I then found an old ragged cotton sock, so I put it on the upper part, and then a cardboard thingie from used paper towel roll. I hope it helps a bit, at least it protects the little Magnolia from frozing wind. We'll see is it alive in the Spring anymore. - 5.1.2003
