Children will love this plant because when they touch it the leaves close up so quickly. Just be careful of the thorns. This plant loves humidity.

Very young Mimosa Pudica L. around 7 to 8 days after germination. Upon the very first time they opened up, the 'sensitive' leaflets took half a day or so before they became touch-sensitive.

Mimosa Pudica L. with embryonic leaves and in the process of developing its very first set of sensitive leaflets. Usually, there are 3 pairs of leaflets on the very first set.
