Gaura suffulta ssp. suffulta, commonly known as kisses, is a Texas and Oklahoma native wildflower that has white sweet smelling blooms that are about 1/2 inch to 1 inch wide that fade to pink when maturing. They have dark red anthers. Shown in early April. (San Antonio, Texas)

Gaura, Kisses (Gaura suffulta) pollen is united by viscin threads which resemble spider webs as shown in this photo. These threads are thought to assist with the transfer of the pollen by insects.
