The 1 inch, deep violet/purple flowers with yellow centers edged in a deep maroon/blood red are very showy and cover the plant over a long season. Shown here with a berry starting to form. (San Antonio, Tx.)

A darker purple 5 pointed star radiates from the center of the bloom. Each of the longest rays of the yellow starburst in the center is directly in the middle of each of the darker purple rays. Note the delicate looping vein pattern seen very well on the lower right leaf.

part of the plant is on the right had side i bought it last fall it was staked and about 3 ft now is higher than the fence..

This can be trained into a small tree. Blooms continuously until it gets too cold.

I planted this Blue Potato Bush in my garden late last summer. It likes regular water and direct sun . It's one of my favorite plants.
