This is my all time favorite plant. I am addicted to growing them. They bloom when everything else is still in deep winter sleep, and those same blooms stay on the plant for about 4 months.
The have wonderful evergreen glossy leaves that last all winter long. Mine are in shades of creams, whites, pinks and lavenders.

Doesn't stay buried in the snow for long. Not an early bloomer in Zone 6, but blooms eventually. Snow is too deep for it in true winter, but once it blooms a few flakes don't hurt.

April 2014...I shovel most seedlings away, but a few I pot up to give away..a 2014 seedling (seeded after flowering in 2013) will flower in 2016..
