When Tropaeolum tricolorum flowers are fertilized, they first turn yellowish and later green. See top right of this picture where you can distinguish unripe seeds.

This picture shows how erratic Chilean Tropaeolum seeds germination is. Seeds sowed on April 24/2005 (Autumn in the Southern Hemisphere). Pls read the addendum to my original comments.

In this picture you can observe the ripening seeds. Although each flower can produce 3 seeds, it is more likely to find one or two. (Rangue, Chile)
