Started from a store-bought 1-Gallon plant a year ago, this Black Magic growing in Rockledge, Florida (32955) is now about 5 ft above ground. With sun for at least a good part of the day and with lots of water, the Black Magic becomes a prolific multiplier. This photo with the early morning dew shows the deep deep purple color that gave its name of Black Magic.

This was bought this year & was a Tissue Culture (TC) I hope next year it is larger & stronger.

Grew this from a 6 inch pot pruchased from garden center. Plant thrived on northern side of my home with mostly indirect sunlight. Soil is heavy clay with mulch from christmas trees from a year ago. I was amazed at the growth rate and size. Plant grew to about height of 4 feet and circumference of 5 feet.

In hot, dry climates, best grown with a soaker/weeping hose in the bed for easy supplemental watering. Otherwise, fairly carefree.
