This plant now has 1.5' of clear trunk (dead or extra leaves cut away) and flowering very early December- only 4.5 years from seed. Photo above of 2 year seedling, two years ago, is same plant.

Response to freeze of about 27F- note the deep purple leaf tips- same color the lime-green juices inside leaves stain things when cut into.

cut and dried leaf bases on stem... cut leaves ooze an almost radioactive-looking bright yellow-green sap... yet it dries purple (and stains everything)
