Hesperantha's are small South African bulbs that grow in the winter. Mine have survived light frosts, but with slight browning of the leaves, so I doubt that they are very hardy. This particular species is moth pollenated in the wild and opens at dusk - but mine can't seem to make up their minds if they are diural or nocturnal...

This year's blooms, showing a bit more of the red than the last pic. My bulbs still haven't decided whether they are diurnal or nocturnal openers - so I guess they never will... ;)
