My first bloom of this black beauty!

Very dramatic. The colors range from maroon to almost black since these are seedling-grown.

The very large 3” “blooms” are slate black through dark purple in hue & hold their color over an extended period of time (3 months or more!) The downfacing blooms have 15-20 petals each!
