This star begonia is native to Mexico. I could not find it's cultivar name. From the center of the leaf which is 10 inches across at it's widest point, a light gray-ivory starburst radiates outward ending in the veins. (San Antonio, Tx.)

Recently potted up Begonia heracleifolia--actually one half of a larger plant I separated--the other half was planted in the ground here in Northcentral Florida, zone 8b. The plant was so heavy it had to be staked to keep from flopping over. Large dark green leaves with blackish margins, 8 to 14 inches across, and supposedly pink flowers in the Spring.

Begonia heracleifolia planted in the ground with limestone rocks, Northcentral Florida, zone 8b. Leaves are 8 to 14 inches across. Flowers are supposedly pink, blooming in early Spring. This in only one half of the original plant I purchased!
