Commonly called "Mexican Olive" and "Anacahuita", this evergreen small tree blooms in late spring through early summer. Receiving enough water, it will bloom during all the seasons as shown blooming in October. Look closely and you can see a slight pink tinge on the outer rim of the petals. (San Antonio, Tx.)

The Mexican olive can grow into a small tree if not affected by below 20 degree temperatures. Shown growing in Zone 9A. It is blooming again in October. (San Antonio, Tx.)

This Texas wild olive is still blooming in December, although the flowers are smaller than during the warmer months. There have been several nights with freezing or below temperatures. (San Antonio, Tx.)

The Mexican olive bloom is a clear white with a center varying from gold to an orangish color. The buds are a deep green which is almost black appearing with lighter green striations. This tree blooms almost nonstop. (San Antonio, Tx.)
