THis is the more common form of this tree- suckering and thinner stems. Sometimes they will even branch. This plant is in the Leu Gardens, Orlando, Florida

This is a photo of a 6 year old suckering seedling in southern California, exposed to 27F for 5 hours... plant completely killed by it... so I would categorize this is as a 'marginal' palm in zone 9b
