Hairy Balls Seeds Pods split open and ready to harvest seeds. The pods will split open when they are ripe.

You can\'t tell by the color of the pods when they are ripe; you need to watch for them to split open.

It\'s easiest to harvest the seeds before the silk begins to dry and fluff up. Remove seeds and silks from the pod like this.

By holding the silk at the small end, you can scrape the seeds off with your fingers. Much easier to do at this stage than after they fluff.
