One reason this flower is considered a weed is the propensity of the seeds to attach themselves firmly to clothing! Beautiful flower, nonetheless.

Biennial with large taproot and stout, branching, hairy stems to 4' tall. Tint white flowers tightly grouped in clusters, which in turn form a larger umbrella-shaped cluster about 4" across. As flowers fade, the featherlike stalks curl into a tight bird-nest shape supporting numerous oval, bristly, dried fruits that are up to 1/3" long. Blooms May through Oct.

Growing wild. Grows in fields and ditches. It is a pretty flower but most states consider it a weed.
