Rhododendron atlanticum x periclymenoides hybrid 'Choptank Rose' in Wilmington, Delaware. This variety is a natural hybrid that was found along the Choptank River, close to the Maryland - Delaware border.

Rhododendron atlanticum "Marydel" - a pink-flowered form originally found near the Maryland-Delaware border. This variety was once thought to be a hybrid with R. periclymenoides but taxonomists now say it is probably just a pink form of the normally white flowering R. atlanticum.
