The Chisos Mountain False Indian Mallow, Velvet Leaf Mallow (Allowissadula holosericea) leaves are covered by short hairs (white spots in photo). Note the unopened twisted corolla at the bottom left.

Chisos Mountain False Indian Mallow, Velvet Leaf Mallow (Allowissadula holosericea) flowers appear to glow as they are lit up by afternoon sunlight.

I believe this to be a Velvet-leaf Mallow. It came up voluntarily in Hugo, South-west Oregon
