Damianita daisy (Chrysactinia mexicana) flowers are very small; but because of their contrast with the deep green folage and because they are so numerous, they stand out well. (Yellow bloom type)

A growth habit view of the Damianita daisy (Chrysactinia mexicana) with portulaca growing around the base to give a size perspective. It has been in the ground since spring (bought in a 6 inch pot).

Damianita daisy (Chrysactinia mexicana) makes a great combo plant with other heat loving plants as shown here with hybrid portulaca. A pink blooming rock rose grows behind the damianita.

A damianita daisy (Chrysactinia mexicana) seed head which has more than half of its seeds already dispersed by the wind. A few are shown being dislodged and starting to go on their way. (Shown in Nov.)

Damianita daisy (Chrysactinia mexicana) seeds have almost all been dispersed from the seedheads (seed heads). The empty seedheads will remain on the plant for some time looking like tiny starbursts.

The colors of Damianita daisy (Chrysactinia mexicana) blooms are intense, difficult to describe and difficult to capture accurately with my digital camera. The blooms persist for quite some time without fading. A rainstorm had just knocked the stems downward some before I took this night view.

A damianita daisy (Chrysactinia mexicana) plant that came up from seed next to my curb in partial shade and is about 3 years old. It bloomed on and off the whole year. This is its true yellow bloom color.

Damianita daisy (Chrysactinia mexicana) usually blooms in March/April and sporadically there after; this one planted itself along my curb; new one has emerged 3 feet away
