The very large leaves are mostly burgundy colored with green between the ribs of the leaves. Part of the underside is green as well.

The flowers are small and aren't really showy like many hybrids, but are very bright and pleasing to the eye.

The pods are typical of Cannas, and produce seeds that are hard, round and black.

It's only about 4 ft. tall here, but will reach over 6 ft. by the fall.
