White Willow (Salix alba)

Pruned Salix alba..in Dutch landscape a typical and important element...the branches are used for wicker-work for ages...these trees will die without hard pruning every three years..

Here is a photo of the Salix Alba, named Knot Wilg (Knot Willow) in dutch. A traditional tree here growing by ditches (we have a lot of ditches here) and the flat Dutchlandscape in the background.
