My Dad, Paul A. Kennon, grew this Daylily from seed in 1973 and named it after my youngest daughter.
The flower is huge, measuring...Read More seven (7) to seven and a half (71/2) inches across with out much care given to the plant. She is a late bloomer, just blooming now 5/25/2010. The bright and glowing deep yellow coloring is magnificent and last all day in the bright sun without fading. I have managed to keep just a couple of the plants, but they are dividing nicely this year. I've had a bout with "rust" over the past few years but the plants are doing better this year.
I'm not a flower buff but this daylily is one of the most beautiful that I have seen. I'll try and post a photo of Dawn Kennon in bloom soon.
