In Chicago, it blooms from mid-August to early November. The soft pink flowers are semidouble and exceptionally large.
It gets 43" tall and 36" wide.
It is a herbaceous perennial and not a bulb. It is quite shade tolerant and prefers woodland conditions to full sun. It requires regular moisture, and the leaves get brown edges if irrigation fails here in Boston Z6a.
Plants are slow to establish. I have had poor success with fall planting, and good success with spring planting.
