I have tried at least 30, (half the package) and have one up in a cup. Probably have 8 of the first 30 recently placed on damp paper towels in a baggie, and 21 still buried in starting mix, ( for about 3 weeks, now) probably rotting away, so there is a chance I could still get more.
Described as a desirable tomato, so I hope I get to try it.
Modification 4-7-2011:
Should have done this earlier! I finally got several germinated and planted out that year. Liked the tomato very much. Saved seed, and have had no germination problems with seed I saved. Strange that the seed I saved was about 4 times larger than the seed I purchased, which was about the size of typical seed from a cherry tomato. Must have been from an exceedingly immature Chapman tomato.
I don't know if this plant grows in my area.

A large sturdy plant that sets lots of big tomatoes with great flavor here in New Mexico.
This is a wonderful tasting tomato -- has that full 'old timey' flavor. Lovely medium-lg to large red/scarlet beefsteaks.
1 to 2 pound bright red beefsteaks.
