Named fo...Read Morer his wife’s uncle, it is a seedling tree which arose near a woodshed on the family homestead. It is a very prolific late summer- early fall apple which produces a tasty tennis-ball sized apple when properly thinned. An excellent all-purpose apple for fresh eating, frying or baking. Fruit is medium or smaller with smooth yellow skin overlaid with stripes and splashes of red. Ripens September to October.
