Taken as a tiny volunteer seedling from the Prescott, AZ, area in 2007...Read More, this rapid-growing tree seems to have reached its fully-mature size, with a height and spread of about 25x15ft. This tree appears to be drought-tolerant, and has never shown signs of drought stress, despite being given the same amount of water as other, desert-adapted trees. It is a great shade tree and gives the backyard a very woodsy feel, even in the depths of summer here in the low desert. So far, I have not had any problems with invasive roots. The roots will sucker, though, if cut.
