Boca Raton, FL (Zone 10a) | November 2004 | positive
Nodding Pinweed is native to the dry sandy areas, sand pine scrub, scrub, dunes and sandy ridges from central Florida southward (zones 8b...Read More to 10b). It is an excellent native scrubby groundcover or small shrub that is drought-tolerant as it grows in the dry Florida scrub that may have benefits to pollinating insects. It is great for a native plant garden depicting the Florida scrub with lots of exposed locations with full sun! Sadly, this plant is listed as threatened by the state of Florida because it and it's habitat, the scrub, is being destroyed by development. I'm not sure if any seeds or propagating methods are available for this plant at the moment!
