Keep in mind, either one would be sold under Jerusalem Cherry. This plant has many varieties available in cultivation.
I have read in many plant books, that “in nature” False Jerusalem Cherry (Capsicastrum) is a more grayish plant & the bark is less smooth. It also has been said False JC’s berries are less colorful “in nature”. Because of hybridization & the many varieties available, I personally never have seen the difference between the two types in cultivation.
