It smells a lot like the wild swamp azalea I found by nose in a w...Read Moreild part of my yard, but it has a lovely, compact shape and the flower color is a very appealing shade of pink with just a touch of yellow on one petal. Mine is growing in a mostly-shaded spot, somewhat crowded by a large rose, and I thought it had no flower buds this year because I neglected to feed it last year. But today it surprised me! It's blooming quite respectably. I'll have to get you a photo tomorrow. Too bad I can't photograph the fragrance! I certainly wouldn't mind if it were a bit faster-growing, but it does have a few suckers that I hope to transplant some time soon. I've probably had it at least 14 years and it is still barely 4 feet tall.
