A heavy spring snowstorm demolished the tree several years ago but despite horrendous pruning, it came back and survived. It looks very beat up but the bark is absolutely stunning -- a shiny copper. Really gorgeous. I would try this tree again in a small yard or courtyard, especially for the winter interest the bark provides. Please see my posted photo of the bark.
